Brutal attack in Leipzig: 35-year-old robbed at the main train station!

Last week there were two shocking attacks in Leipzig that kept the police authorities on their toes. The incidents, which further strain the sense of security in the city, took place in different parts of the city, but they show an alarming tendency towards violence among the perpetrators.

The first incident occurred on Willy-Brandt-Platz in front of the main train station. A 35-year-old man was attacked by an unknown perpetrator around 10 p.m. on a Saturday evening. According to Blick.de he was suddenly beaten and briefly lost consciousness. When the man came to, he discovered that his electronic device had been stolen. The perpetrator is described as male, around 1.75 meters tall and with a short beard. The police are now appealing for information from witnesses who may be able to contribute something to the incident.

Second attack with multiple perpetrators

The second attack occurred just a day later in the Gohlis-Nord district. Here two men were attacked around 8:30 a.m. on Borkumer Weg on the corner of Bremer Strasse. According to Tag24, six cars drove up and 10 to 12 people got out. These attackers insulted and brutally beat the two men. While one victim was able to escape, the other was still attacked while lying on the ground. The perpetrators stole his belt bag and were able to escape undetected in their vehicles. In this case, too, the police are urgently looking for witnesses who can provide information about the perpetrators or the vehicles.

Such incidents cast a worrying light on the security situation in Leipzig. Interior ministries are under pressure to take measures to better protect citizens. The criminal police are now actively looking for additional witnesses who may have made observations that could help solve the crimes.
