August 7, 2025 is an exciting day for 46 young talents who will start their professional careers at Sparkasse Leipzig. The new employees, including five dual students, were welcomed to the Löhrs Carré headquarters by board member Olaf Klose and department director Harald Kohl. This initial phase marks the beginning of a joint “onboarding week” that promotes exchange and networking among the new colleagues.
The group is made up of 26 women and 20 men who want to further their qualifications in various programs. 38 of the new employees are completing an apprenticeship to become a bank clerk, while 1 young woman is starting training to become an office management clerk and two others are starting training in dialogue marketing. The latter training qualifies you for digital consulting services in the Sparkasse’s customer service areas.
Introduction and team building
The introductory week offers young talent insights into corporate structures, banking secrecy and aspects of money laundering. This comprehensive orientation is complemented by workshops, team building activities and training that help new employees get to know each other better. In addition, opportunities for a multi-day educational trip to Torgau are also planned in the second half of August.
In order to enable modern, location-independent learning, Sparkasse Leipzig provides its trainees with tablets. This not only increases flexibility in the learning process, but also supports adaptation to digital learning methods, which are becoming increasingly important in today's working world. Sandra Glimm, head of the training and development group, also emphasizes how important training is for the development of future specialists and managers.

Sparkasse Leipzig is proud to currently employ 116 trainees and BA students and is one of the largest training companies in the region. What is particularly noteworthy is that over 470 interested parties applied for the training positions, which underlines the high level of interest in the career opportunities on offer. The young talent is between 16 and 24 years old and brings with them a variety of nationalities and professional backgrounds.
Graduates with good performance have a high chance of being accepted, which further increases the attractiveness of the training.
