Mass battles and comebacks: AEW Fyter Fest 2025 promises excitement!
On July 12, 2025 the 2025 edition of Fyter Fest take place in Texas. This four-hour live event will begin with the show “AEW Dynamite” and end at midnight with “AEW Collision.” Viewers can look forward to exciting fights and star returns, including the return of Tay Melo and the in-ring debut of Thekla.
Kenny Omega will be at the center of the action as he defends his AEW International Championship in an exciting Fatal 4 Way match. His opponents include Brody King, who qualified by defeating Josh Alexander, Mexican wrestler Máscara Dorada, who defeated Hechicero, and Claudio Castagnoli, who got the chance by defeating Komander. Castagnoli, who describes himself as the true International Champion, has unsuccessfully fought Orange Cassidy for this title in the past.
Viewing number development of AEW
The ratings of “AEW Dynamite” and “AEW Collision,” airing back-to-back on TBS, show interesting developments. The first hour of “Dynamite” reached 803,000 viewers before that number dropped to 604,000 toward the end of the third quarter. Overall, the edition averaged 655,000 viewers, an increase of 3% compared to the previous week. “Collision,” on the other hand, saw a decline in viewership, starting at 619,000 and ending at just 243,000. Average viewership fell 25% to 380,000, nearly half of “Dynamite.”
In the 18-49 demographic, “Dynamite” scored a 0.18 rating, up 12% from the previous week. “Collision,” on the other hand, earned a 0.10 rating, meaning interest in the show had waned significantly. However, despite the decline, this number was still 25% higher than the four-week average of 0.08.
Future events and announcements
AEW is planning a Summer Blockbuster Special next week on June 11th that will be designed as a unified event rather than airing as separate shows. This strategy is designed to help increase viewership and maintain interest in the brand.
In addition to Kenny Omega's title defense, other interesting fights will also take place at Fyter Fest 2025. FTR faces Atlantis Jr. and Templario, while Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa will take on Julia Hart and Skye Blue, with Mercedes Moné on commentary. La Facción Ingobernable will face Komander, Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey, while Jon Moxley will face Mark Briscoe in a non-title match.
With all of these announcements and rivalries brewing, it will be exciting to see how viewership develops and what stories unfold within AEW as we look forward to Fyter Fest 2025.
