On October 12, 2025, the AEW (All Elite Wrestling) wrestling world will be abuzz with anticipation for the upcoming event WrestleDream, which will take place in a week. Kota Ibushi's injury is serious. He suffered a fractured femur, which caused significant damage, according to F4WOnline. Medical staff said the broken bone penetrated muscle tissue, causing intense pain. Ibushi can currently only move his toes and a full recovery is estimated to take one to one and a half years. In an emotional Instagram post, he explained that surgery was successfully performed and that AEW CEO Tony Khan sent him a bouquet of flowers - a gesture that deeply touched Ibushi.
“You can’t give up when someone does something like that for you,” Ibushi said in his message. He also spoke about how he has serious concerns about what another serious injury could mean for his life. Tony Khan, in a statement, called Ibushi one of the greatest wrestlers he has ever seen and expressed his gratitude for his dedication and talent.
WrestleDream and upcoming matches
The WrestleDream event promises exciting fights and the card is already promising. Newly announced matches include: Thekla vs. Jamie Hayter in a non-title match, as well as two Tailgate Brawl matches. Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron will compete against Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford, while FTR will face Team JetSpeed. Furthermore, the third encounter between The Demand and The Hurt Syndicate will take place.
