Hechicero signs with AEW: Is the CMLL star coming into the spotlight?
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has expanded its roster with talented wrestlers in recent months. New signings include names like “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Josh Alexander, Kevin Knight, Thekla and Alex Windsor. This reports Wrestling Inc.. Among the newcomers is expected to be Hechicero, a former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion who has signed a new dual contract with AEW and CMLL.
Confirmation came from Lucha news specialists at Luchablog, who stated that Hechicero's original contract was set to be formalized around the time of AEW Grand Slam Mexico. The reasons for the delay are still unclear. Neither AEW President Tony Khan nor CMLL have yet officially announced Hechicero's signing.
Hechicero's current role in AEW
In addition to being a new face in AEW, Hechicero is also a member of the Don Callis Family, which he joined in June after leaving his former allies Último Guerrero and Averno. In his first appearance as an official member of the Don Callis Family, Hechicero appeared at the CMLL Martes Populares event alongside Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita and Rocky Romero. Hechicero was recently seen in an episode of “AEW Dynamite” alongside Alexander and the Young Bucks, where they successfully fought against Brody King, Bandido, Knight and Bailey. Before that, however, Hechicero and his colleagues from the Don Callis Family suffered a defeat against Big Boom AJ and The Conglomeration.
The Don Callis Family has also grown, as shown on the October 16 episode of AEW Dynamite. Don Callis introduced Lance Archer and ROH World Television Champion Brian Cage, who both joined his group. Callis stated that he plans for Cage and Archer to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Kyle Fletcher, who recently questioned his loyalty to Will Ospreay, is also part of this ensemble.
In another exciting moment, new AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita challenged his challengers. Don Callis emphasized that the Don Callis Family is stronger than ever.
With the new additions and strategic positioning of talent within the league, AEW remains an exciting player in the wrestling world. Fans can look forward to further developments, especially regarding the dynamics within the Don Callis Family and the upcoming battles.
