Former students of the Schoenstatt St. Mary's School celebrate 40 years of friendship!
On October 9, 2025, 17 former students of the Schoenstatt St. Mary's School met in Borken to celebrate their 40th school graduation. The celebration, which took place at the riding facility on Bollenberg, attracted not only the former students, but also the then teacher Thekla Eiting.
The mood was exuberant; Good food was served and many memories were refreshed. At this meeting it quickly became clear that it would not be the last meeting of its kind. The event was organized by former students Rita Brokamp, Angelika Hark and Claudia Raupach, who were delighted by the large turnout.
Social commitment and future prospects
Particular attention was also paid to the topic of social responsibility. At the end of the evening, a donation of 100 euros was collected for the ALS Foundation. This initiative was made possible by the good organization and economics of everyone present as well as the support of Thekla Eiting. The participants not only showed their solidarity with one another, but also their interest in doing good and strengthening the community.
The alumni association, which was founded after an initial meeting in November 2003, supports the maintenance of relationships between former students and teachers and the promotion of a sense of belonging. The driving force behind this foundation was Sr. Rosemaria. The annual membership fee is 10.00 euros, with alumni being free of contributions for five years in the year they graduate from school. This association is also responsible for future events such as the next big alumni meeting in autumn 2025.
Activities and contact
Active members are invited to submit images and contributions for publication on the school homepage. The association also supports current school projects every year, and income is generated, among other things, through waffle sales on the open day.
The current board members are:

The meeting of former students is not only a celebration of the past, but also a promising basis for future encounters and community engagement.
