Exciting film premiere: Swabian Alb in a new light!

On June 30, 2025, the eagerly awaited premiere of the new film “What the Alb tells us – The fascinating world in the Swabian Alb biosphere area” took place at Hohenneuffen Castle. The film, produced by the renowned nature filmmaker Dietmar Nill, highlights the region's breathtaking nature and cultural heritage. After three years of development, around 80 guests, including politicians and regional actors, were able to experience the first impressions of the film. gea.de reports that a 30-minute compilation of the hour-and-a-half-long film was shown during the event.

The Minister for the Environment, Climate and Energy Sector of Baden-Württemberg, Thekla Walker, gave a welcoming speech and thanked Dietmar Nill and his team for the successful presentation. She emphasized the importance of the film in understanding and appreciating the nature of this unique landscape. The film not only focuses on rare animals and plants, but also shows the people who are actively committed to preserving the biosphere area.

Excitement among the spectators

The audience reacted enthusiastically to the performance, which was reflected in long-lasting applause and a lively exchange in the question and answer session that followed. “The uniqueness of the natural and cultural landscape of the biosphere area is incomparable,” emphasized Dietmar Nill during his speech. The film also shows the cultural and historical heritage of the Swabian Alb, including novel shots of castles that illustrate the connection between nature and history.

In the coming weeks and months, the complete film will be shown in various regional cinemas and at events. The first fixed date has already been set: On September 6, 2025, the film will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in the open-air cinema on Löwensteinplatz in Mössingen. Further performance dates will soon be announced on the biosphere area's website biosphaerengebiet-alb.de.

The Swabian Alb, often described as a true “declaration of love” to nature, has found a new medium to share its history and beauty with this film. It remains to be seen what other changes and insights the film will bring to audiences.
