Ferred moment in the southern suburb: van crashes in tram!
On Thursday afternoon, a traffic accident occurred in the southern suburb of Dresden, which was luckily without injuries. According to Tag24 drove a 65-year-old man around 2.30 p.m. Fritz-Löffler-Straße. At the intersection to Reichenbachstrasse, the driver overlooked a tram when turning right, which led to a collision.
The tram was directed by a 27-year-old driver. After the accident, property damage of around 25,000 euros occurred. As a result, Reichenbachstraße was temporarily closed, which led to the redirection of tram lines 3 and 8 by the Dresden Verkehrsbetriebe (DVB). According to the authorities, the detour took about an hour while the police started the investigation into the course of the accident.
Problems in tram operation
Although the trams collided with each other, there was no injuries to record here either. The property damage to the two vehicles is low, but the trains had to be brought to the workshop for checking. Here, too, the incident led to diversions in tram operation, which also impaired the flow of traffic.
Both incidents throw a light on the challenges with which the Dresden transport companies are faced. While the investigation into the exact causes of accidents still ran, security in public transport remains a central concern for the city and its citizens.
