Serious accident in Seehausen: Audi driver fights for her life!

On June 21, 2025, two traffic accidents of varying degrees of severity occurred in the Seehausen region. According to information from sachsen-anhalt.de There was an incident on Arendseer Strasse at 11:10 a.m. A 44-year-old woman who was driving her Volkswagen collided with a 36-year-old cyclist who was heading towards the city center on the cycle path. The collision caused the cyclist to fall and sustain minor injuries. The material damage to the vehicles involved was also notable.

Another traffic accident took place on the same day at 7:13 p.m. on the B 189. This involved a collision between a 33-year-old Audi driver and a 41-year-old car driver. The 33-year-old woman was traveling on the L 2 from the direction of Seehausen when she ignored the right-of-way of the 41-year-old, who was coming from the direction of Osterburg on the B 189, in the intersection area. This resulted in the Audi driver being seriously injured, while the 41-year-old escaped with minor injuries. Here, too, there was significant damage to the vehicles.

Legal aspects of right of way

Ignoring the right of way can have devastating consequences. Loud fachanwalt.de Road users coming from the right generally have the right of way, unless traffic signs specify otherwise. Vehicles entering from field or forest paths do not have the right of way (Section 8 Paragraph 1 StVO). It is the duty of drivers who do not have the right of way to show through their driving behavior that they respect the right of way (Section 8 Para. 3 StVO). Collisions like the one on B 189 underline the importance of these regulations.

The right-of-way regulations are primarily intended to prevent accidents at intersections and junctions. If road users ignore the right-of-way rules, they must expect fines and points in the Flensburg traffic register. Serious violations can even lead to fines, driving license revocation and up to five years in prison (§ 315 c StGB).

More incidents in the region

Independent of the accidents described above, another incident was reported in Tangermünde on June 23, 2025. At around 8:00 a.m., officers discovered an e-scooter on Bahnhofstrasse that was traveling without an insurance license plate. A check revealed that the 23-year-old driver had not taken out insurance, which led officials to ban him from driving. A criminal case was initiated.

These incidents in Seehausen and Tangermünde show once again how important it is to observe traffic rules and safety precautions in road traffic. Only through responsible driving behavior can the safety of all road users be guaranteed.
