Ampfurth in construction chaos: through town closed for six weeks!

Next Monday, July 7th, 2025, the comprehensive renovation of the roadway on state road (L) 102 will begin in Ampfurth in the Börde district. This was announced today while preparations for the construction site are already in full swing. The construction work is expected to last around six weeks and will be supported by the state of Saxony-Anhalt with an investment of around 300,000 euros. A total of almost 550 meters of Alte Schermcker Straße will be renovated.

The work includes milling away the old road surface to a depth of twelve centimeters and then rebuilding the road. The aim is to improve traffic safety and secure the road surface. To ensure that the construction work can be carried out smoothly, the through town will be completely closed during the construction period. A diversion for through traffic has been set up: The diversion leads from Schermcke via the L 24 to Seehausen and further via the B 246a to the intersection with Magdeburger Landstraße in the direction of Klein Wanzleben.

Diversions and information measures

The affected residents will be informed promptly about the construction work and the accessibility of their properties. Accessibility remains largely guaranteed so that residents are not cut off from the work. The construction work is scheduled to be completed in time for the start of the new school year.

The need for this renovation is due to various existing road damages. These range from unstable road edges to ruts, bumps, network tears and maintenance-intensive repair areas that require urgent replacement. In similar cases, for example, the L 386 in Rhineland-Palatinate is being resurfaced in several construction phases. Full closures will also be ordered to ensure traffic safety.

The measures on the L 386, which extend over 4.2 km between L 386/K 62 and Flomborn, are subject to strict occupational safety requirements and will take a total of around five months. The total costs for this larger project amount to around 2.4 million euros.

The upcoming construction work in Ampfurth will open a further chapter in improving the infrastructure of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, which will benefit both residents and road users. Renewing the infrastructure is crucial for long-term traffic safety and user comfort.
