Farewell to long-running favorites: Roth and Seehausen are ending their careers at SV Eintracht!

Today two long-established players are ending their careers at SV Eintracht Salzwedel: Julian Seehausen and Gregor Roth. Both players shaped the face of the club for many years and leave a big gap, as the club is currently struggling with a loss of a total of eleven players from the first and second teams.

Julian Seehausen, who is ending his career at the age of 34, is considered one of the best central defenders in the region. He has been playing football since he was six and moved to Eintracht Salzwedel in 2012, where he won several district cups and was promoted to the state league in 2022. Particularly noteworthy is his role as a reliable penalty taker, most recently in the cup final against SG Letzlingen/Potete. After his playing career, Seehausen plans to take part in training once a week to continue to stay fit.

Career and influence on the club

Gregor Roth, 35 years old, has played every position except goalkeeper in his long career. He will now take on tasks in the department management and actively support the coaching staff. Roth has experienced both ups and downs with the club, including crashing out of the national league in the 2012 season. He always appreciated the support of the fans and describes it as a privilege to play for Eintracht.

The decisions by Seehausen and Roth to end their careers not only represent a loss for the team, but also a challenge for SV Eintracht. Coach Helge Kietzke praises both of them as important pillars of the team.

Current challenges of the team

While Eintracht Salzwedel has to cope with the departure of its two top performers, the team remains in fourth place in the national class. An important game recently took place against SV Heide Jävenitz, which was won 3-2. There were some remarkable moments: Gregor Roth missed a penalty kick in the 3rd minute.

The goals of the game were scored by, among others, Stefan Heuer in the 14th minute and Marcel Peters in the 26th minute. Salzwedel showed a fighting spirit, despite the opponents scoring the next goal in the 37th minute. The game took place under the eyes of 99 spectators who, despite the painful farewell to Roth and Seehausen, experienced exciting football.

Eintracht Salzwedel must now enter a new era while preserving the memories of the achievements of Seehausen and Roth. The coming weeks will show how well the team is positioned and which new talents can take the place of the experienced players.
