Schönauer Health Week: 600 participants prove enthusiasm for health!

Schönau, Deutschland - On May 28, 2025, the fourth health week in Schönau, Mannheim, took place, which came up with an impressive participation of around 600 participants. In collaboration with the Caritas Quartier Bureau Schönau, the youth welfare office and the Mannheim health office and the Heidelberg University of Education, 33 versatile actions were organized that spoke of people of all ages. This initiative offered a variety of ways to actively act and learn more about healthy ways of life.

The offers included moving farm breaks for children, healthy breakfasts, relaxing forest walks and even brain jogging. The children of the Hans-Christian-Andersen primary school and the Schönschule in particular were able to take part in special sports offers. Young people cooked together in the youth center, while adults had the opportunity to take part in a game afternoon as well as boules and darts training. Senior gymnastics, a garden workshop in the health café and a multi -generation breakfast in the villa were offered for the older generation.

diverse activities and sequels

The health week was a complete success and not only offered leisure activities, but also informative events on topics such as self -help, living will and healthy media use. Many of these offers are also continued after the health week, such as regular walks, cooking offers and game meetings. There were also positive feedback from organizers who were able to welcome participants from other parts of the city. Caritas Mannheim particularly highlights the successful cooperation between the actors since the third year work together.

A highlight of the event was the opening of the health café of the city of Mannheim, which acts as a low -threshold contact point for people of all ages. Mayor Dirk Grunert took part in the opening, which was enriched by the AOK by promotions such as fitness tests for children and strengthening exercises. Such offers are important in order to underline the relevance of movement, especially in old age, as in Practical guidelines for municipal movement promotion in old age

opportunities for students

The students of the Heidelberg University of Education also had the opportunity to gain practical experience during the health week. They organized a total of ten actions, including healthy snacks in the Johanna Geissmar-Gymnasium and a scavenger hunt for children from the Hans-Christian-Andersen School. These experiences not only offered an excellent learning option, but also promoted awareness of healthy ways of life among younger generations.

The positive response of the participants has already initiated the planning of a fifth health week for the next year. The organizers are confident that they will continue to offer a wide range of activities that serve the health and well -being of citizens in the future.
