Schönau fights against Haberskirchen: Will we get the first point?

Next Sunday, August 10, 2025, the SpVgg will meet. Haberskirchen and SV Schönau face each other at 4:00 p.m. This game promises exciting entertainment as both teams start the game with different starting situations. While Haberskirchen started the new season with 3 points after a win against TV Reisbach, Schönau is so far without any points after not being able to achieve any positive results after two games. Last season, Haberskirchen was superior in both matches against Schönau and won them, including a dramatic game that was decided in stoppage time.

SV Schönau has decided to rely on its current coaching team, consisting of Reinhard Duldinger and Michael Schedlbauer as well as assistant coach Andreas Steinbrunner, after the club was relegated from the district league last year. Those responsible are aiming for a carefree season in the district league in order to consolidate the club and re-acclimatize in the first year after relegation. In recent weeks, the sporting record has been described by Tobias Gratz, the sporting director, as “a rollercoaster ride”, especially after the results, which included a narrow away win against newly promoted Thanndorf and a clear 1:6 home defeat against Oberdietfurt.

Goals of SV Schönau

SV Schönau's goal is to secure fifth place at the end of the season and possibly even move up one place. The gap to the leaders TSV Ulbering is currently 17 points, although Gratz considers the chances of first place to be slim. Nevertheless, with 25 points he sees a solid gap to the first relegation team, TSV Massing, who only has 16 points. In the current lineup, Schönau is increasingly relying on young talent and plans to fight for promotion to the district league again in the coming years.

Preparations for the game against Haberskirchen have already begun. Players are returning from vacation, which should give the coaching staff more options. Schönau is known for its physical and combative style of play, and with striker Simon Schedlbauer in the ranks, they hope to improve their performance. The reserve teams of the two teams will play their game at 2:00 p.m., which offers additional incentive for the fans and the players.

However, SV Schönau must be careful not to repeat any bad performances this season in order not to put themselves in danger of relegation again. While the coaches will work together until the end of the season, the hope is that the combination of experienced and young players can be successfully implemented on the pitch. Only time will tell whether Schönau can turn things around and work his way further up the table.
