German wheel gymnastics championships: traditional festival in Bad Neustadt!

Next Saturday, October 18th, the 63rd German Wheel Gymnastics Championships will take place in the Mayor Goebels Hall in Bad Neustadt an der Saale. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the DJK Olympia Schönau, the traditional institution in wheel gymnastics, the event promises to be a highlight in the German sports calendar.

100 years ago, Otto Feick patented the Rhönrad as a piece of sports equipment, and since then, Rhönrad gymnastics has firmly established itself in German sport. The DJK Olympia Schönau can look back on an impressive number of successes, including numerous German championship titles. This shows the great importance of the club and sport in the region.

Competitions and disciplines

The championships take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offer Germany's best wheel gymnasts a platform to show off their skills. Only athletes who have previously qualified through the South or North German Championships are eligible to participate. A total of 24 of the best wheel gymnasts will take part. The DJK Olympia Schönau will receive two additional starting places for Tanja Rehm and Hannes Bruckmüller, which further increases the club's chances.

The competitions cover various disciplines of wheel gymnastics, including straight gymnastics, spiral gymnastics and vault. From 7 p.m. the final competitions of the six best athletes are on the program, which are eagerly awaited.
