Dark art meets WGT: mystical exhibition in Schleußig!

Meeting the Wave Gothic (WGT), one of the largest festivals for the Gothic and Wave culture, Leipzig is again the focus of the internationally active scene. From June 6th to 9th, 2025, the city becomes the meeting point for lovers of dark aesthetics and creative forms of expression. During this time, the gallery "Art loves courage" opens its doors in Schleußig and presents the exhibition "WGT in the gallery". Until July 5th, this shows works that reflect the mystical and dark elements of the scene. [l-iz.de] reports that both established names and emerging talents are represented among the artists presented.

Visitors can look forward to a variety of artists and their impressive work. These include Lisa Schubert with her oil painting "Les Fleurs du Mal", Jea Pics with "midnight shimmer" and Manfred Behnisch, who presents mystical portraits. Florentine Joop, Luci van Org and Holger Much will also be seen with their unique creations that range from Neo-Viktorian collages to magical illustrations.

artistic events and highlights

The exhibition is associated with different highlights within the WGT. On June 7 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. there will be encounters with Lisa Schubert and Manfred Behnisch, followed by a reading by Lisanne Surborg from her work "Nachtlügen". Another highlight will be "blood dialogues" with Florentine Joop and Luci van Org on June 8 to 5:30 p.m. The events are an excellent offer to get to know the artists better and immerse themselves in the creative processes.

The gallery has special opening times during the WGT: from June 6th to 8th it is open daily from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on June 9th to 4pm. Admission is free, a WGT ribbon is not needed, which makes the event an easy and accessible experience for all visitors.

other exhibitions within the framework of the WGT

In addition to the offers in the gallery "Art Loves Courage", the Agra-Cafe works by various artists, including photographer Armand Tamboly, known for his impressive portraits from the rock and metal scene, as well as the concept artist Carsten Busse from Leipzig and the multidisciplinary artist Jana Komaritsa, which is active in the music scene under the name Darkrad. Brian Harnisch and the autodidactic sculptor Luise Lächig, who works under the name Certa Sculptura, also enrich the exhibition by sharing their unique perspectives on life and art.

In total, the WGT is not only a platform for music and culture, but also a lively crossroads for artists and creative people who celebrate the beauty of the dark and create a place of exchange and inspiration for fans and lovers of the scene.
