Arson in Plagwitz: Four car sharing cars in flames!
On Tuesday night, four car-sharing cars were set on fire in Leipzig-Plagwitz. The incident occurred on Karl-Heine-Straße, where the parked vehicles were lined up. When the fire brigade arrived, the cars had already completely burned down. The police assume that the arson was intentionally set, but the extent of the property damage is currently unclear LVZ reported.
The incident in Plagwitz is not the only fire in the west of Leipzig. Last weekend, unknown people set several vehicles on fire in Plagwitz and the neighboring district of Schleußig. There were further fires on Wednesday night: three cars were set on fire on Beipertstrasse (Schleußig) and in a parking lot on Antonienstrasse (Plagwitz). One vehicle was completely burned out, while the other two were only damaged. Reported on this MDR.
Investigations are ongoing
The police have started an investigation on suspicion of deliberate arson. It will also be checked whether these incidents are part of a series of arsons in the west of Leipzig. The large number of arsons within a very short period of time not only causes concern among residents, but also increases safety awareness. The police advise caution and are monitoring the situation closely to prevent further incidents and catch the perpetrators.
