reportsThe following Saturday, June 7th, the day of the open hospice door takes place from 2 to 6 p.m. under the motto "Hospiz up close". This event gives visitors the opportunity to get to know everyday life in the hospice and to find out more about the extensive support offers. Guided tours of the hospice are offered, with a special focus on the hospice terrace and garden therapy. The residents' personal rooms are also visited to give a deep insight into the individual, loving design of the living rooms. The photographer Dagmar Franke will present her works that day and the photographs can be purchased at a special prize in favor of the hospice. There is also a play area for the little guests while the kitchen team offers samples of its dishes.
an insight into the hospice work
The Hospiz Advena, which has a total of 16 inviting and furnished single rooms, offers barrier -free equipment and enables the residents to bring their own furniture and personal objects with you. Each room has access to the shower and toilet, while the west rooms have terrace accesses that allow residents to spend even in the open time, even if they are bedridden, adds hospice.
Hospice work itself, as has been established in Germany since the 1980s, aims to accompany people with seriously ill people and their relatives in their last phase of life. It not only focuses on the relief of physical complaints, but also offers emotional and spiritual support. There are currently 282 inpatient hospices in Germany, 95 % of which health insurance benefits are financed. The hospice movement is deeply rooted in civil society and was significantly shaped by volunteers, which the Diakonie emphasizes.
special offers and services
In addition to inpatient care, the Advena Hospice also offers an outpatient service, which enables support in your own four walls. Trained, volunteer hospice companions accompany those affected and their relatives and ensure that this support is unlimited and free of charge. This offer is of central importance, since it helps people to keep their quality of life until the end, as also emphasizes Diakonie.
The events in June offer an excellent opportunity to get to know the valuable work in a hospice context and to find out about the various facets of palliative care. The Hospiz Advena and the Plagwitz district library cordially invite you to take part in these days to set a sign of dignity at the end of life.
