Tradition meets enjoyment: The Leev Marie” in Lindenthal is opening again!

The inn “Zum Marienbildchen” in Lindenthal, Cologne, reopened at the beginning of April as “Leev Marie” and delights its guests with a combination of traditional charm and the latest facilities. As the oldest inn in Lindenthal, first mentioned in 1721, this building has a long history dating back to its days as a stagecoach stop. Mark Junglas, who is responsible for the renovation, took care to preserve the charm of the house while incorporating modern elements. The low building with lattice windows and the whitewashed brick facade stands out remarkably in the street on Aachener Straße, as marienbild.de emphasizes.

The menu at “Leev Marie” offers a selection to suit every taste. It includes two starters, six main courses (one vegan), six side dishes and two dishes for children. There is also a weekly offer with four asparagus dishes and a dessert. The prices are in the upper segment of the usual restaurant level, which is supported by the careful selection of local suppliers such as Potato Cult, Metzgerei Esser and Heilandt Kaffee.

The culinary highlights

The dishes at “Leev Marie” vary greatly in quality and taste. “Marki’s Markklößchensuppe” offers three dumplings, but the taste falls short of expectations. The Wagyu beef tartare is praised for its excellent meat quality, but unfortunately a slice of bread is missing. The Duress free-range pork schnitzel also impresses with its size and crispiness, but could do with a lot more salt and butter in the sauce and puree.

There are also a number of supplements, but they are not always convincing. The fries are often not crispy enough and the Charolais beef roast disappoints with its tenderness and the unexpressive beer sauce. The dessert in the form of cream puffs with vanilla cream and strawberries also does not reach the desired level; the vanilla flavor is weak and the strawberries are not marinated.

Drinks and atmosphere

With their meal, guests can choose from seven open wines (6.50 - 9 euros for 0.2 l) as well as classic beers such as Gaffel Kölsch and Bayreuther Hell on tap. It should be noted that only card payments are accepted at “Leev Marie”.

Opening hours are Sunday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight. The inn is located at Falkenburgstraße 21, 50935 Cologne, and therefore offers an ideal opportunity for everyone in the area to enjoy the unique atmosphere and culinary delights.
