Renovation backlog at Hofgut Tachenhausen: Nürtingen's plan for the future!
The city of Nürtingen plans to lease a 98-acre area of the Tachenhausen estate to the state of Baden-Württemberg. This was discussed publicly in two events on Wednesday. In the morning, the SWR weather team filmed a report about the area for the state show, while the annual inspection of the property by the local councilors took place in the afternoon. These measures are part of a larger plan to address the existing renovation backlog on the Hofgut, which is reported in NTZ.
The Tachenhausen estate, which offers both valuable landscape and cultural aspects, could be relieved of the necessary renovation costs through the planned handover to the state. This is an important step as the maintenance measures for this important area are to be carried out using public money. The idea of handing over the area on a leasehold basis was deemed sensible after thorough examination.
Tachenhausen teaching and experimental garden
One of the central parts of the estate is the Tachenhausen teaching and experimental garden, which presents around 1,100 perennials. These perennials are arranged in beds, which are shown to you by Professor Dr. Follow the system of life areas developed by Richard Hansen, which was developed by Professor Dr. Sieber has been revised. The design of the beds takes into account the growth characteristics, flower colors, flower shapes, flowering times, leaf colors, heights, textures and structures of the plants.
In addition, the plant characteristics are presented in connection with the requirements of the respective locations. This includes, among other things, adapting the soil through additives as well as irrigation and shading measures. Information about the areas of life, including pictures and comprehensive plant lists, is available in the teaching and experimental garden. This makes the offer particularly attractive for garden lovers and those interested in education.
