Lindenthal is blooming: new green area with fitness area and picnic areas!
The renovation of the green corridor between Oswald-Kahnt-Ring and Müllerring in the Lindenthal district of Leipzig has been completed. After around five months of construction and a total budget of around 370,000 euros, residents and visitors can now use the newly designed paths. The main connection in the north-south direction now has a new asphalt surface, while the side paths, especially between the Oswald-Kahnt-Ring and the “Am Alten Flughafen” street, have been provided with a water-bound surface and a side slab. So reported L-IZ.
The construction project received support from the local council, which provided over 14,000 euros in traditional resources. A significant highlight of the renovation work is the newly built calisthenics facility. The focus of this facility is on physical training without a lot of equipment, allowing people of all ages to get active and stay fit.
User-friendliness and biodiversity
The aim of the entire renovation work was to create a sustainable and user-friendly environment that promotes both sporting activities and recreation in nature. As part of these measures, new picnic areas were also created, supplemented by benches and bicycle racks. This makes the green corridor an inviting place for families and groups who want to spend time outdoors. Loud N-AG, biodiversity was also promoted by planting seven new trees, numerous shrubs and flowering perennials.
Other measures include the conversion of short grass areas into species-rich flowering meadows, which are intended to help strengthen nature in the urban environment. This shows that the development of the green area is not only aimed at sporting activities, but also has environmental protection in mind. It is planned to continue the renovation work up to the “Zur Lindenhöhe” street in the medium term.
