Travemünde, Deutschland - The anticipation on the 136. Travemünder Woche increases, because the traditional event in Travemünde will begin next Friday. This year, a total of 350 boats for the regattas have registered, which is a reduction compared to the previous year. Sports director Jens Kath, however, calms the supporters of the event: fluctuations in the number of participants are normal.

The cultural offer this year is also promising. A varied music program is offered on two stages, which covers numerous genre and should attract both locals and tourists. A special event will take place on July 23, when Lübeck Mayor Jan Lindenau will compete against the Kiel counterpart Ulf Kämpfer in the race for the "Rotspon Cup". The race starts at 11:30 a.m. and promises an exciting competitions between two prominent personalities.

A highlight of the Travemünder Week will be the maritime art presentation in the glass cruise terminal at the East Prussian Kai. Travemünder artists: Inside there show their works that deal with topics such as sea, ships, beach, wind and sailing. In addition to Inga Prasse and Mara Heidi Sieber, the participating artists also include well-known names such as Salvador Dali, whose works are brought to Travemünde by the Drei-König Gallery from Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen.
