The exhibition “Writing is Happiness” will open in Erfurt from May 16, 2025. This diverse event takes place in the Old Synagogue, Schwertgasse 8, 99084 Erfurt, and runs until January 15, 2026. The Old Synagogue is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on Mondays. In addition to the Old Synagogue, there are also two other venues: the Small Synagogue and the Waidespeicher Gallery, which can also be visited at the times mentioned. Entrance fees are set at 8 euros for adults, reduced tickets cost 5 euros. There is a shared entry ticket for families for 17 euros. School classes and daycare groups have free entry as part of the lessons, but advance registration is required. Free entry is also offered on the first Tuesday of every month. The visit is designed to be barrier-free: all exhibition areas of the Old Synagogue are accessible via an elevator, and a video guide with a hearing loop is available to support hearing-impaired visitors.
