The monthly program is rounded off with various guided tours on historical topics that expand scientific and cultural perceptions. On Sunday, July 27, 2025, the tour “Education and Emancipation – The Hidden World of the Altenburg Magdalenenstift” will be offered again.
In connection with art, the work “The Airplanes of Brescia, 1909 from Franz Kafka: Dreams, Diaries, and Fragments” should not go unmentioned. The American artist Robert Andrew Parker created this hand-colored etching and aquatint in 1994. It is a fascinating work that visualizes the fantasies of Franz Kafka and is now gaining additional resonance in the context of art events in Altenburg. However, this artwork is not currently on display and remains part of a dynamic arsenal of cultural heritage (artic.edu).
The program in Altenburg therefore offers a great opportunity to experience and enjoy art and culture in a historical setting. The events take place in a diverse setting and contribute to the city's lively cultural scene.
