Summer has arrived in Leipzig and with it a wave of events that captivate both citizens and visitors. The city is preparing for a series of events focused on the future, environment and community. Above all, the upcoming Leipzig City Festival, which will be celebrated on Augustusplatz from June 6th to 8th, promises a special experience for everyone with a smoothie bike, chill-out corners and refreshing drinks.
But the focus is not only on the city festival, but also on the Leipzig Environmental Days. These will take place from June 5th to 15th, 2025 and offer over 90 events that encourage environmental and nature conservation as well as sustainable living. Everyone who wants to actively participate and help shape their city is invited. Ahoi Leipzig reports that Leipzig's Environmental Days will begin on June 10th at 7 p.m. in Café Grundmann and will be dedicated to the topic of climate-neutral heat supply with new technologies such as district heating and heat pumps. Admission is free, but registration is recommended.
Diverse programs
The Environmental Days offer a wide range of topics, including biodiversity, sustainable consumption and urban nature. A separate program is planned for each day from June 5th to 15th. For example, the week starts with a school tour of the Probstheida water supply plant on June 5th, followed by an opening film about nature.
The event is organized by Leipzig initiatives, associations and companies and aims to raise awareness of ecological issues. At the climax of the Environmental Days, the Eco Fete will take place on June 15th in Clara Zetkin Park. This event includes an interactive booth and an energy quiz for all ages, ensuring there's no shortage of fun.
