Brutal attack on women's cemetery in Leipzig – police ask for witnesses!

On Tuesday evening, July 17, 2025, a brutal attack occurred at the cemetery in Kleinzschocher, Leipzig. An unknown man attacked a 57-year-old woman who was visiting the cemetery between 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. The perpetrator first spoke to the woman and then knocked her to the ground while he tried to sexually harass her. However, the victim defended herself, which caused the attacker to flee. The woman had to be taken to hospital because she sustained injuries. The police have opened an investigation into a sexual offense and are urgently appealing for information from the public. Blick reports.

The perpetrator is described as around 50 years old, with a height of between 1.60 and 1.70 meters. He had gray, curly and unkempt hair and a slim figure. What was noticeable was a large white “rose” in the left ear and visible scars on the arms and legs. The man spoke German without an accent and was wearing a white T-shirt with colorful circles as well as a denim jacket and cropped jeans. He also had a black backpack with him. The investigators from the Leipzig Police Department hope that witnesses have information about the incident or the perpetrator in the cemetery. In particular, you are asked to report if anyone observed anything suspicious or heard noises between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Information can be given by calling (0341) 966 4 6666 or directly at Dimitroffstrasse 1 in Leipzig.

Robbery crimes in Leipzig-Kleinzschocher

In addition to this serious attack, the Leipzig-Kleinzschocher region is recording another worrying crime. On October 20, 2023, a previously unknown woman became the victim of a robbery. A 23-year-old man threatened the woman with a knife between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and stole a low three-digit amount of cash. Here too, the police are asking the injured party and possible witnesses to come forward and provide information about the course of the crime. LVZ reports.

The two incidents highlight the security situation in Leipzig and show how important it is for the population to work together with the police to investigate such acts. Investigators are therefore calling on all citizens to be vigilant and to report immediately if they observe anything suspicious.
