Pfullingen triumphs in the last game and defeats Young Boys 2-1!

Pfullingen triumphs in the last game and defeats Young Boys 2-1!

On June 6, 2025, the season in the Württemberg association for VfL Pfullingen ended with an emotional game against the Young Boys Reutlingen. Despite the already fixed descent, Pfullingen won a 2-1 win, which is a conciliatory end of a difficult season for the team. The Young Boys, on the other hand, still had a look at the relegation and started the encounter optimistically.

In the first round it was the young boys who dominated the game. Hakan Aktepe scored 1-0 in the 41st minute and gave the guests a guided tour at half -time. But the VfL could not be discouraged and came out of the cabin with a fresh vigor.

Department manager Marcel Laaß was satisfied with the relegation and the performance shown over the season. In the first leg between the two teams on November 23, 2024, the game had finished 1-1.

While Pfullingen celebrated, other teams faced great challenges. The TSG Tübingen could slide a relegation rank with a defeat. Turkspor Neckarsulm was crowned as a master and plays without pressure in the last game. Heimerdingen had to descend and TSV Berg only needed one point to stay in the class.

The games of the last round were of enormous importance because there were several teams in the relegation battle. FC Esslingen had to win to secure the relegation, while Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen and TSG Balingen II fought for whereabouts in the league. The referee of the game between Pfullingen and the Young Boys, Lauritz-Philipe Hafner, was supported by Luca Bredow and Maximilian Ruoff.

VfL Pfullingen leaves the association league, but the experience from this season is shaped by the players and the club management. Benjamin Ponath will take over the U19 of the VfL, while Samuel Mayer will act as an assistant coach in the national league team. The fans hope for a new beginning and positive developments in the coming season.
