Immenhausen receives 120,000 euros for a modern community center!

Immenhausen was able to look forward to significant financial support: funding of 120,000 euros is being provided as part of the village development. These funds come from the European Union funds and from the municipal financial equalization (KFA). The official handover of the funding decision took place recently and was presented by Dr. Christina Grebe, head of the regional development service center in the Kassel district.

The central component of this funding is the community center in Immenhausen-Holzhausen. The building, built in 1972, plays an important role in village life and houses, among other things, a daycare center, a library and a multi-purpose hall. The planned measures in the community center include energy and technical modernizations that are intended to improve public use and support club life.

Extensive investments and planned measures

The total costs for the investments amount to around 347,000 euros, with only around 170,000 euros of the costs being considered eligible for funding. The grant therefore covers around a third of the total investment. Plans include, among other things, the renovation of the kitchen and counter area, the renovation of floor coverings and the basic renovation of the toilets and showers. In addition, new windows and a smoke extractor will be installed, and the energy optimization of the heating and lighting in the entrance area is also on the agenda.

Mayor Lars Obermann expressed gratitude to the Kassel district and the state of Hesse for the funding commitment. This is the third grant that Holzhausen has received, after funding was previously promised for the frog pond and the boules facility.

Village development and citizen participation

Immenhausen was recognized as a funding focus for village development in Hesse in the summer of 2020 and has entered the concept phase of the Integrated Municipal Development Concept (IKEK). A steering group of ten members has been formed within this framework to plan the next steps together with a specialist office - the city working group from Kassel. The group will analyze the city's strengths and weaknesses and formulate a future plan for the districts of Immenhausen, Holzhausen and Mariendorf.

The central topics of the IKEK include, among other things, adapting to the changing age structure, strengthening internal development, avoiding vacancies and securing basic services in the economic, social and medical areas. Expanding the sports and recreational offerings and increasing tourist attractiveness are also key points on the agenda.

The city administration emphasizes the importance of citizen participation in the planning process and invites all interested citizens to get actively involved. Information about the development of the IKEK and events is regularly provided on the city's website. Lars Obermann, chairman of the steering group, emphasizes how important active public participation is for future grant measures. A kick-off event for the IKEK development is already being planned.

The IKEK is not only the first step in promoting concrete measures, but also a basis for the renovation of private buildings. The city is facing challenges that should be addressed in a targeted manner in order to sustainably secure the future viability and quality of life in Immenhausen. In view of the funding programs running until 2027, social and infrastructural expansion is of utmost importance.
