Great success at the inclusive football tournament in Erpfting!
Last Saturday the 8th inclusive football tournament for youth teams took place on the sports field in Erpfting, which was organized by SV Erpfting in cooperation with the support association and Regens Wagner Holzhausen. A total of seven teams from the region and the FC Augsburg e-youth took part. This ensured a number of participants of around 80 children and young people.
In addition to the FC Augsburg e-youth, the participating teams also included DJK Schwabhausen, FT Jahn Landsberg, SV Erpfting, SV Igling, SV Stoffen-Lengenfeld, TSV Schongau and VfL Kaufering. Particular attention was paid to inclusion: twelve children and young people from the special education day care center and the special education home in Regens Wagner Holzhausen competed as full team members.
Appreciation and fair competition
Before the event began, a minute's silence was held for Herbert Thanner, the second chairman of the “Friends and Supporters of Regens Wagner Holzhausen” and initiator of the tournament series. The respect and recognition for his achievements were noticeable.
There was a good atmosphere throughout the tournament and all games were played without any injuries. The teams competed fairly, which contributed to a positive tournament outcome. A highlight was certainly the encounter with the FC Augsburg players, which particularly motivated the young kickers.
Inclusive participation in focus
The participants with handicaps were integrated into all teams without reservations and were able to score numerous goals. Britta Klein, the second chairwoman of the support association, visited the event for the first time and said enthusiastically: “It was a very nice event.” Their positive feedback shows how important such inclusive formats are for a sense of community and acceptance in sport.
The event not only provided a platform for sporting activity, but also a valuable opportunity to promote inclusion in youth football.
