EAR experiences in the Budde House: Discover the art garden until September!

In the Gohlis district of Leipzig, the Budde House has opened its doors to a unique audio walk in the picturesque art garden since June 2025. Under the motto “EAR Experiences”, visitors can embark on a journey through soundscapes that not only includes natural sounds, but also songs, poems, life stories and instrumental music. The special thing about this project is the interactive design: At several listening stations, participants can play the various audio pieces using QR codes on their smartphones. How leipziginfo.de reports, the radio pieces were produced in collaboration with various cooperation partners from Gohlis, including the Leipzig helps Ukraine e. V. and narrative space e. v.

There is also a special area in the art garden where children can guess animal sounds. The art garden is open daily and invites families and those interested to enjoy the nature and sounds of the surrounding area. For those without a smartphone, there are regular tours, with the last tour on September 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. a few days after the best time to listen. These tours are free of charge and registration is not necessary. The meeting point for the tours is at the entrance to the art garden, directly behind the garden house.

Details and infrastructure

The audio walk in the Budde House is part of a larger cultural project that is supported by the Cultural Office of the City of Leipzig and the North District Budget. In addition, the content is created by several cooperation partners, including “bocconcini di cultura e. V.” and “New Music Leipzig”. The Budde-Haus also offers information on barrier-free accessibility and therefore the outdoor area and the ground floor of the garden house are barrier-free, while access to other event rooms is possible with support. If you have any questions, please call 0341 90960037.

The Budde House can be easily reached by public transport. Tram 12 and the S-Bahn lines S1 and S3 take visitors to the “S-Bahnhof Gohlis” stop, from where it is only a short walk of around 50 meters. There are appropriate parking spaces on site for cyclists, whereas parking options in the residential area are limited. Despite the restrictions, the Budde House is asking for donations to support the project, whose goal is to make art and culture accessible to everyone.

Further information can be found on the Budde House website, where the specific details of the tours are also listed - a nice opportunity to explore the art garden and the sounds of the surrounding area. More on this initiative can be found at budde-haus.de.
