Apartment fire in Kaditz: Quick intervention saves neighbors!

On January 16, 2026, between 10:47 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a fire broke out in an apartment building on Andersenstrasse, Kaditz. The fire started in a room where furnishings were burning. Thanks to the fire department's quick intervention, the fire was quickly extinguished with a jet pipe so that no one was injured. The tenant arrived at the scene during the operation.

The fire apartment is currently uninhabitable due to significant damage. The adjacent apartments were also checked for smoke gas entry, but without any negative findings. This meant the remaining residents could quickly return to their apartments. A total of 42 fire and rescue services were mobilized to deal with the situation.
