During intensive border controls last weekend, Ebersbach federal police discovered several violations of the weapons law. On November 22, 2025, a 32-year-old Ukrainian was checked in the highway commuter parking lot in Uhyst. Despite his negative response about dangerous objects, officers found a switchblade in his fanny pack. The knife was recovered and the man was able to continue his journey.
A day later, on November 23, 2025, a 21-year-old Pole was stopped entering the country on Zittau's Chopinstrasse. When he couldn't open his window, he opened the door and officers discovered a butterfly knife in his dashboard tray. This knife was also confiscated, but the driver was still allowed to enter the country.
