In the Altlindenau district of Leipzig, a 15-year-old was stopped by the police on a stolen scooter yesterday. The chase began when the teenager raced along sidewalks on the moped several times. When the officers tried to stop him, he initially fled, but was later caught.
During the inspection it turned out that the vehicle had previously been stolen. The young driver also did not have a valid driving license and the license plates attached did not belong to the scooter. A drug wipe test that was carried out came back positive for cannabis. The boy was released to his guardians while police launched a full-scale investigation into theft, illegal racing, driving without permission, and other violations.
