Drugs and weapons in traffic: Two drivers arrested in Görlitz!
In a dramatic check on Saturday morning at the motorway checkpoint, federal police discovered a 35-year-old Azerbaijani in a Dutch BMW who wanted to enter Germany illegally. At first the man tried to claim that he had forgotten his passport, but the officers found the document in his backpack. But that wasn't everything! The police discovered a prohibited switchblade and an irritant spray device in the vehicle, which led to a complaint for violating the weapons law. It also emerged that there was an executive arrest warrant against him - he had not responded to a fine of 200 euros!
A day later, things got even more turbulent for a 36-year-old Polish driver. Federal riot police stopped his Mercedes on the Görlitz city bridge and discovered a glass tube typical of drugs, another switchblade and 0.8 grams of cannabis in his trouser pocket. The driver admitted to “taking something” the night before, which a rapid drug test confirmed. The police also found a loaded CO2 pistol in the glove compartment, and to make matters worse, it turned out that he was banned from driving. The reports are piling up: suspected drug possession, lack of a firearms license and driving without a license!
