Alcohol intoxication and drugs: Czech stopped by police at the border crossing
On July 23, 2025, at 11:30 p.m., an 18-year-old Czech driver was checked by the federal police at the Polish border crossing Zittau - Sieniawka. The young man was noticed by his unsteady gait and the clear smell of alcohol. A breath alcohol test showed an alarming 2.06 per mille, which clearly indicates a dangerous condition. In addition, a rapid drug test showed that he had consumed opiates or cocaine.
The officers also found a prohibited one-hand knife and several narcotic tablets in the young driver's vehicle. This discovery not only reflects badly on the driver's behavior, but also poses a serious threat to road safety. It remains to be seen what legal consequences this incident will entail.
