Bio-Mobil in Leipzig: Discover the future of ecological agriculture!

From June 14, 2025, Burgplatz in Leipzig will be the setting for the "Bio-Mobil" event, which will take place until June 26th. This initiative is part of the EU-funded campaign "Limitless Regional-Bio in Europe", which wants to raise awareness of ecological agriculture and sustainable consumption. According to Leipziginfo , the program includes various activities that are designed especially for all age groups.

The opening event will take place on June 14th at 1 p.m. and welcome prominent guests such as environmental mayor Heiko Rosenthal, Bernhard Wagner from the Wassergut Canitz and Eva Köhler from the cooperative agriculture Leipzig. This opening round will deal with an important topic: the importance of ecological agriculture for urban areas and the protection of natural resources. Heiko Rosenthal emphasizes how crucial ecological management is for drinking water supply in Leipzig.

diverse program

The organic mobile offers an exciting range of program items, including virtual reality experiences, game streets, cooking shows and children's cooking class. On June 21, a reading with the sustainability expert Marisa Becker is planned, followed by a children's cooking course with Govinda on June 24th. In addition, two cooking shows will be presented on June 25th, and the regional organic farms such as the Guidohof and Sonnengut Gerster present themselves on June 20 and 21. On the last day of the event, information is provided by the Bioland-Hof Schömbach.

Leipzig is the only biostadt in Saxony and plays a central role in this campaign. The event is coordinated by the presentation for sustainable development and climate protection, and further information is on the website regionalbio.eu available.

ecological agriculture and their importance

The demand for organic food is enjoying growing popularity throughout the European Union. According to European parliament are no longer niche products today, although they only make up a small proportion of the entire agricultural production. The new EU regulations on ecological production aim to ensure food quality, environmental protection and animal welfare.

"ecologically" or "biologically" means a sustainable agricultural system that not only takes into account environmental and animal welfare, but also includes all levels of the food supply chain, from raw material supply to processing and sales. These aspects are intensively illuminated during the organic mobile event in order to raise awareness of sustainable consumer options.
